Happy New Year!!

It's been a minute since I have posted up a new blog. I'm way overdue. Sorry for that but Happy New Year to everyone. Team Blackout ended 2008 on a good note. Back in November, we performed at Booker T. Washington High School in Virginia. We had a lot of fun in Va. Shout outs to everyone who was rollin with us showin us a good time and shout outs to the fans and the radio stations. Here's a pic from that performance:





But now it's a new year, new swag, new everything. We started 09 right with a performance at BET's Blaze the Stage and yesterday we did an interview for Kiss Fm 95.7!!

My First Time Voting

I am very happy to have voted for the first time this year. What makes it even more worthwhile is the fact that I was able to participate in a historic election. I feel extremely proud that Barack Obama has been named President Elect. I want to shout out my fellow youths for being responsible and going to the polls. It actually was very easy to do and didn't take more than a couple of minutes when I got into the actual voting booth. Luckily for me, I didn't have to wait that long either.

I said I would post some pics of me at the voting booth. I took some pics with me and my parents. Leave your opinions about the election.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR VOTERS

YO Yo YO wats happening everybody? I'm sure everyone is aware that tomorrow is the Presidential Election!! We finally have a opportunity to make history and elect the first BLACK PRESIDENT, Senator Barack Obama. This will be the first time I will be able to vote. This makes me very excited. The fact that this is my first time voting and I have the chance to make history is unbelievable. I will be taking pictures of me at the voting booth and post them up so yall could experience the joy with me.

Not only do I want to encourage all my fans and friends to vote but I have something that's very important to share.

YOU CAN NOT GO TO THE POLLS WEARING ANY OBAMA SHIRTS, PINS OR HATS, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW AND WILL BE GROUNDS TO HAVE THE POLLING OFFICIALS TO TURN YOU AWAY.

THAT IS CONSIDERED CAMPAIGNING AND NO ONE CAN CAMPAIGN WITHIN X AMOUNT OF FEET TO THE POLLS. THEY ARE BANKING ON US BEING EXCITED AND NOT BEING AWARE OF THIS LONG STANDING LAW THAT YOU CAN BET WILL BE ENFORCED THIS YEAR!

THEY ARE BANKING THAT IF YOU ARE TURNED AWAY YOU WILL NOT GO HOME AND CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES.

Spread the word to your friends so we can all be able to make a difference together.
I'm sure some of yall know this already so I don't want to insult your intelligence. I just wanted to make sure that I spread the message.

Team Blackout at Manhattan Center

Yesterday, we were at Hot 97's Stay in School Event at the Manhattan Center. They asked us to come and show love to the kids and stress the importance of getting an education. Mad celebs showed up. Juelz Santana, Jim Jones, Maino, David Banner, Donnie Klang, Mims, DJ Webstar, and many more. It was great to be there. We went on at the end of the show during Webstar's set. Shout outs to Webstar!!

The fans showed us mad love. If you were at the event and are reading this blog as we speak, thanks for the love!! Your going to be seeing a lot more of us soon. We have more performances lined up. Be on the look out.

Team Blackout on Word UP MAGAZINE!!!

For all you Run's House fans, you may remember the episode this past season when we did our photo shoot for the 25th anniversary of Word Up Magazine. Well its finally out now. We made the cover!!! It's the November issue. You will see Lil Wayne in the center but if you look at the top left corner you can see my leg and half of JoJo and Reggie loll. I can't complain though. We're making progress. On page 98 of the new Word Up Mag there's an article about us. Go to your local newstand and check it out.

Well things have been getting pretty busy with me lately. School's definitely in full effect. My classes have been very...very hard. If you didn't know along with rapping I play the drums; I am a jazz performance major in college. It's not an easy job staying on track with school and having a music career. I've been doing well with it so far. We haven't performed too much yet but we have a couple of performances coming up. Team Blackout is going to be at the NYC Marathon Nov. 2. We're also going to be at the Manhattan Center next Tuesday. I'll let yall know more about it.

Swagger Like Us Remix

Ay wats happening. I haven't been on the blog in a little while. I've been mad busy with school...trying to stay on top of all my classes. Anyways, last week Team Blackout and our boys Young Jerz and Young Wizz laid down the Swagger Like Us Remix. NEW SKOOL WAS DEFINITELY IN THE BUILDING!! We put in work. We were up all night recording...shout out to Lamar Pro for engineering the session. Good lookin out kid!!
